Buffet Catering

Hickory Nut Gap Farm has 5 event location options. The Party Shed, History Barn, Corral, Big Barn, and Old Sherrills Inn.

 

Party Shed

The party shed is the perfect venue both for active, creek-loving little ones and adults ready to relax in the shade.

During your party we invite you to participate in the season’s farm activities.

FACILITIES: The party shed is an open-air, covered pavilion. The floor is scattered hay with a wooden platform for seating or food setup. We provide you with four picnic tables, trashcans, and recycling containers. There is an electric outlet with two plugs.

The creek and a treehouse are also adjacent to the party shed.

COST: Party Shed Rental is $125 for a 2-hour period. September & October Party Shed Rental is $225.

Times Available: 10-12am and 2-4pm

The Big Barn

Our large barn is available for hosting events on a seasonal basis late spring, summer and early fall. It is a large covered space that can host up to 250 people. Private dinners, receptions, retirement parties, anniversary parties and corporate events work well in this space.  Please contact us for availability and pricing. We also have other open areas that can be used in conjunction with tent rental.

The History Barn

The History Barn is a covered green & white barn with educational signage on the walls. It is perfect for dinners, parties, and other events. The animal observation area is right next door, where guests can visit various farm animals.

COST: $100 for a 2 hour period, $200 in September and October.
Times available: 10-12pm and 2-4pm

Old Sherrill’s Inn

The Historic Old Sherrills Inn, is just two miles from the Hickory Nut Gap Farm store and has been in the family for generations.

Sherrill’s Inn is situated on a hillside, surrounded by extensive landscaping which evokes a lush pastoral ambiance. The historic inn is now a private home that host events year round. It’s the storybook setting you’ve been dreaming of! The picturesque estate is ideal for a wedding celebration marked by love and tranquility. The expansive grounds are ideal for a whimsical, open-air reception or an elegant tented reception. Enjoy a delicious catered meal and then dance the night away beneath the stars.

Corral

The grassy, flat split rail fenced corral space easily fits a nice event tent and can accommodate seating for 150 people. It is adjacent to the store easily accessible to the handicap parking and outlet for the band, lighting or other electrical needs. This is a perfect location for your next corporate event, church picnic or retirement party.

Kitchen + Catering

The kitchen & butchery is open for catering. We have a farm raised and locally sourced menu for catering and can easily meet your needs both in flavor and budget. Please book this independently with the kitchen by calling 828-628-1027.

Horse rides are available for an additional $100. These must be arranged beforehand. Please call Annie Ager to schedule horse rides: 828-273-6236. Hay Rides and Kiddie Cart Rides are an additional $50 (September and October only).

There is no deposit required.

Scheduling

Please call 828-628-1027 to schedule a date and time for your party. (We do not schedule rain dates.)

Available times: Morning (10 – 12) and Afternoon (2-4). The time slot is for your party. You have an hour before and an hour after your scheduled time for set-up and clean-up.

Please respect other’s use of the space and additional parties by not arriving more than an hour early and by cleaning up within the hour after your scheduled time.

Decorations

You are welcome to bring your own decorations, table cloths, balloons, party favors, or other items to make your day special, but we ask that all items are removed and the event venue is returned to its original condition at the end of your allotted time.

Beer and wine are available for purchase and consumption in the store and designated areas.

Parking

All parking for events at the farm is in the main parking lot field across from the farm store. In the event that the gates are closed, please park in the farm store lot.
