We invite you and your loved ones to spend some time here at Hickory Nut Gap Farm. Available activities vary by season, but the farm is always open to visitors year-round. Make a weekend of it, we are just 20 minutes away from Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure and The Hickory Nut Gorge and Asheville, 30 minutes from Hendersonville and 45 minutes from Brevard.

We are a working farm. Please help us keep you, ourselves, and our animals safe by staying in the visitor areas and obeying all signage.

Fall

Activities

September and October are a special time at the farm where we provide a wealth of activities and fun for families and visitors of all ages.

Admission: $7/person, ages 2 and under free
Weekday admission is discounted at $1 Off

ACTIVITIES:  Corn Maze, Trike Track, Hay Climb, Cider Press, Corn Box, Culvert Slides, Baby Pigs, Goats, Calves, Picnic Areas

RIDES: Kiddie Cart Rides, Hay Rides, and Horse Rides are offered Saturday + Sunday from 11 am-4 pm. Tickets for rides must be purchases in addition to regular admission.

U-PICK: Visit our pumpkin patch and apple orchard and head home ready for pumpkin carving and pie baking. Our pumpkin patch opens in October. Our young apple trees did not have proper fruit set this year so there is no Upick for apples. We do however have apples for sale. 

Spring

Spring on the farm is all about baby chicks and calves. Come take a peek at the goodness of life on the farm.  Our cows, pigs, and goats are out on pasture, but you can visit our chicks in the brooder then enjoy the spring sun with a picnic by the creek.

No admission fees during the spring. Slides and picnic areas are open year-round.

Summer

Summer is the time to enjoy our U-pick berries. Our estimated berry season schedule:

  • Blueberries: Mid-June-Late July
  • Black Raspberries: Late June-July
  • Blackberries: July-Mid-September
  • Red Raspberries: August-Mid-September

The creek is always calling your name for a quiet place to relax and watch the kids play. Bring a lunch for picnicking after berry picking. Our cows, pigs, and goats are out on pasture, but you can visit our chicks in the brood house.

Winter

View Activities


Shop our farm store while you warm up with a hot cup of cider. Visit with the pigs deep bedded in the hoop barn. Catch a glimpse of the cows out on pasture, grazing their stockpiled fescue.

Friday Night Barn Dance

In the Summer and Fall, we will have a band come out each Friday and play from 6-9pm! Many of the shows will be lead with a square dance or other dance lesson. Admission is $6.
