HNG Holding Part Time Bookkeeper

This Bookkeeper position works out of the HNG Farm offices in Fairview, NC and the HNG Meats offices in Asheville, North Carolina with the potential to work out of office on occasion.  Most work is accomplished using a company provided personal desktop or portable computer systems, scanners, printers, copiers, phone, and typical office supplies and equipment. HNG Holding works to support financial and marketing needs of both HNG Meats and HNG Farm. This position provides support to the HNG Holding Data Analyst and Controller.

Reports to: Controller and Data Analyst

Hours: 20-30/week. Flexible days M-F.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter Meats and Farm Bills
  • Enter Farm Production Allocation Journal Entries
  • Collect and Enter Meat Loss Data Weekly, verify costs
  • Receive Payments on Invoices
  • Handle A/R Issues
  • Handle A/P Issues
  • Collections
  • Compile and Report Employee Hours to Controller
  • Enter Credit Card Charges and Reconciliation Weekly
  • Maintains Costs on Inventory Sheet
  • Collect W-9’s from Vendor and Enter data in Vendor Profiles

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required by this Position:

  • 1 year Quickbooks Experience preferred
  • Ability to keep precise and accurate records
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google docs and general computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrates ability to function effectively as a team member with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and maintain harmonious and professional relationships

Compensation: $15/hr

HNG Meats Warehouse Assistant

Company: Hickory Nut Gap Meats
Location: 25 Meadow Rd Asheville, NC 28803
Hours: 16-20 hours/week

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in packing orders, invoicing, and creating BOL’s
  • Help customers with pickup orders
  • Deliver locally as needed in HNG truck
  • Transport meat between HNG and 3rd party processors
  • Help with warehouse cleaning and upkeep
  • Assist in meat rotation and freezer/cooler organization
  • Assist in monthly inventory
  • Assist warehouse manager and FT warehouse associated as needed

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate an electric pallet jack
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs on a regular basis
  • Active driver’s license
  • Physical required for truck driving (paid for by HNG)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with in a team and independently
  • Positive attitude

HNG Farm General Manager

The HNGF General Manager works to implement and oversee operations which encompasses the store, events, kitchen, and works in collaboration with the production team. This is a full time salary position. Work will occur within a 5 day work week (which may include Saturdays and Sundays)  with some on call availability as needed to adequately manage the staff and operations. Weekend hours will be required to align with the busy schedule of the business.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily store and all department operations including Deli, Bakery, Catering, Store, Butchery, and Events
  • Coordination of all department managers work flow and interdepartmental processes
  • Management of store, kitchen, and events staff
  • Scheduling of staff
  • Oversight of Department Managers on specific key performance indicators
  • Purchasing of meat, grocery, craft and apparel products
  • Coordination of meat purchases with farm production team and Hickory Nut Gap Meats LLC
  • Oversight of multiple retail outlets such as farm store, CSA, farmers market, and events
  • Managing established budget
  • Sharing and explaining departmental reports with managers and staff
  • Inventory management
  • Point of sale system and product data management
  • Organization and implementation of weekly meetings
  • Training of future staff
  • Oversight of county health regulations

HNG Holding Director of Marketing and Internal Relations

This Director of Marketing position works out of the main office of Hickory Nut Gap Holding LLC (HNG Holding) in Asheville, North Carolina, from home, and on the road. HNG Holding works to support financial and marketing needs of both HNG Meats and HNG Farm.

This position provides marketing plans and implementation for all HNG businesses while managing additional marketing staff.  The incumbent works to build the HNG brand, manage internal marketing within the companies, coordinate advertising, and enhance our presence in the marketplace and agritourism industry.
