Position: Line Cook 


  • Prepare farm to table lunch offerings following specifications of Assistant Manager
  • Using BEO form to coordinate production and prepare catering orders
  • Meet department goals for sales, margin, labor and customer service
  • Maintain kitchen in sanitary and orderly condition, following guidelines set by Assistant Manager
  • Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures
  • Pull old or low-quality items, record and properly dispose of them, following established procedures
  • Clean up spills, take out trash as needed
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts
  • Receive orders, or ensure proper receiving by other kitchen staff
  • Review invoices for accuracy, break invoice into inventory categories, and pass to bookkeeping for payment
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date records of the cost of preparing dishes
  • Research and develop new recipes to recommend to Assistant Manager
  • Inform other cooks and deli staff about ingredients used for proper labeling
  • Advise Assistant Manager of equipment repair and replacement needs  
  • Preparing food, ingredients and supplies order as assigned by Assistant Manager
  • Set work priorities for cooks in the absence of Assistant Manager


  • Experience cooking for deli, restaurant, or catering establishment
  • Working knowledge of natural meat, organic, vegetarian foods
  • Understanding of various dietary restrictions
  • Demonstrates ability to follow through on commitments
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple demands
  • Ability to give clear instructions
  • Organized, attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs
  • Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment
