Birthday Parties

Reserve our newly build party shed for your childs next birthday party. $75 for a two hour reservation of the party shed, equipped with three picnic tables. Pony rides are an option for another $75. Contact office@hickorynutgapfarm.com for availability. Please understand that other than September and October are the only months we are set up with other activities on the farm.
School Tours

We offer tours to schools from September through mid-October. Cost is $3 for general admission. (Group rate) and teachers are free. Tour the farm and do farm related grade specific activities from 9-11:30. Then eat lunch at the picnic tables by the creek and wind through the corn maze (suggested for ages 4 and up). We can accomodate buses and prefer groups of 20-40 students. All activities correlate with standard course of study requirements. A quarter peck of apples is included in the admission price for each child.
Apple Stand

We grow and harvest 10 acres of certified organic apples. Varieties include MacIntosh, Gala, Jonagold, Cortland, Mutsu, Rome Beauty, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Staymen Winesap, and many more. The apples from our farm our grown organically. We also purchase apples from other local producers in Hendersonville that are raised using a low spray program.

Just a short, gorgeous 20 minute drive from Asheville, NC and 30 minutes from Black Mountain, a visit to the farm store is a great way to see first hand the landscape where your food is grown and to meet the people who make it happen.

We offer 100% grassfed beef, pastured pork, free range eggs and have pastured poultry available seasonally. You'll find many local food treasures such as Lusty Monk Mustard, Fire on the Mountain's BBQ sauce, Haw Creek Honey and Imladris Farm Jam. Discover the craft of Maria Pritchards jewlery, Farmer Janes goat milk soap, Katy Behrers knitted wares and wooden cutting boards from local lumber. Come see for yourself the food and crafts grown in our area; pick up a few gifts, treat yourself to some breakfast sausage and don't forget your camera, those baby chicks are so cute!
OPEN 7 days September 1 - October 31

Visit the Farm from 9-6pm seven days a week in September and October. Wind your way through the maze, pick your own pumpkin, fill your bag with certified organic apples, hold a baby chick, visit with our animals and enjoy a day with your family. General Admission covers all your farm activities for the day but pony rides (Sat & Sun. ONLY) are a litle extra ($7)... Bring lunch or buy it here and picnic in the shade of the sycamore. Come see what we have done up on berry hill, there are exciting things growing at Hickory Nut Gap: blackberries, blueberries, asparagus, raspberries. We will have a certified organic upick berry operation ready for harvesting come June 2012. Take a peek at whats ahead.
